She began yoga teacher training when her hip and knee joints began to deteriorate in the hope that she would avoid joint replacement.  While not avoiding the replacements of her hip and knee, she did notice that while active in yoga there was an enormous difference in her strength, and endurance both physically and emotionally.

Susie Schmidt, RYT
Susie came to her mat 13 years ago and fell in love with her practice. She attended Immaculata University majoring in both Psychology and Early Childhood Education, and went on to teach 3 years of Pre-K. Susie decided to follow her passion of yoga and changed careers to become a yoga instructor. Wanting to continue to work with children, Susie became certified in Kids Yoga, and combines both loves by teaching yoga to children. She has her Federal, and State criminal record clearances, as well as child abuse clearance, she uses her knowledge of child development to design the kids classes, and incorporates yoga to enhance them. In her own practice she has found that not only does yoga make your body feel wonderful, it also nourishes your soul. Susie loves sharing in the positive energy of the yoga community at  Blue Buddha and is pleased to be guiding others in their personal practice. Susie's classes are great for beginners and well seasoned yogis alike. While warming up the body with sun salutations we will match our movements with breath as we flow through poses in a mindful manner. We will explore with strengthening, balance, core, hip openers, and twists as we build our strength and flexibility. Leaving this class, you will feel refreshed, light, and energized. This is a great opportunity to begin your yoga journey, or for more advanced students to reach a deeper level.

Jennifer Ranoia, RYT 200

Carolina Cuevas, LMT

Heather has been practicing yoga for over 5 years.  When her 20 year hairdressing career started to go stale she decided to explore what she could do with her other love...yoga.  Yoga has been an outlet for Heather, a way for her to cultivate her abilities to stay present and positive. She has used her practice not only to create a healthy body but a healthy mind free from anxiety.  She wanted to share what she has gained through yoga with others through teaching.  Heather became a RYT 200 yoga teacher in August of 2016 after a year of intense training and practice.  In pursuit of a more advanced knowledge of yoga she has completed an 8 hour program in New York with Baron Baptiste, a 24 hour aerial teacher training program , and replies "My goal as a yoga instructor is to touch people's lives in such a way that I can help them feel physically and emotionally healthier so that they have the strength to continue their journey with positive mindful intentions and love toward not only others but themselves." Heather's soothing yet firm voice helps to carry you through the flow of yoga in a relaxing yet energetic way.  Heather will do her best to help, modify and encourage everyone so that they can accomplish their yoga goals!
